HISTORY
OF RAPID
RESPONSE
Russell R. MacDonnell, Chairman, and Jeffrey
Atkins, President, founded Rapid Response
Monitoring Services in 1992. With their combined
fifty years of industry experience in the
growth, management and operations of alarm and
security companies, MacDonnell and Atkins had
and maintain a keen insight into the needs of
Security System Dealers and Installers. The
ability to anticipate and meet the needs of
Dealers and their customers from a monitoring
center, and a will to not merely meet but exceed
industry standards and customer expectations set
Rapid Response Monitoring apart from the pack
from its very beginnings.
This competitive edge has fueled the growth of
Rapid Response from an initial twelve dealers to
a national client base of more than 900 active
dealers (and growing). Rather than rest on its
laurels, Rapid Response continues to advance the
programs that have attracted the industry's
premiere companies: Dealers that rank service
and responsiveness their highest priority in
selecting their Monitoring Center service
provider.
With a state-of-the-art 40,000 square foot
headquarters facility in Central New York, Rapid
Response Monitoring is listed by Underwriter
Laboratories and certified by Factory Mutual.
Rapid Response is one of fewer than two dozen
Central Stations approved to monitor fire alarms
in New York City. In addition to fire alarms,
Rapid Response also monitors burglary,
supervisory & medical signals, and offers GPS
tracking/monitoring. Rapid Response performs
monitoring of military, commercial, and
residential accounts as well as provides
answering service capability for its Dealers.
Video, voice and data are processed by highly
trained personnel to ensure error free handling
of calls and signals.
Rapid Response's headquarters and Monitoring
Center boast quadruple system redundancy for
superior service reliability, utilizing our own
in-house programming, technical and support
staffs. The facility has been custom designed
and maintained to exceed all industry monitoring
standards. Our work areas and our on-site
training center are equipped to be both
comfortable and technologically advanced to keep
personnel focused and efficient. Rapid Response
additionally plans to establish a West Coast
addition to its headquarters to accommodate an
expanding market in those states.
Rapid Response marks its fifteenth anniversary
in 2007. The company remains committed to
continued investment in its people, technology
and programs, and its original objective:
Serving Dealers who want to exceed the
expectations of their own subscribers and being
the best provider of monitoring services,
protecting lives and property, anywhere. Rapid
Response is proud to have the most responsive,
motivated employees in the industry, who take
pride in maintaining the trust and confidence of
the many fine companies that we are privileged
to serve.
